Art4orm Wins Big at HBA Excellence Awards — May 26, 2010

Nearly 200 home building professionals gathered May 22 for the HBA’s sixth annual Excellence Awards Banquet, which recognizes the outstanding work of local companies across a variety of categories. Art4orm took home two Sales & Marketing Excellence Awards this year for Best Print Media and Best Production Media. Both awards were in recognition of the EarthSmart campaign Art4orm developed and created for Legend Homes.

Best Print Media
Who better to tell us about a Legend EarthSmart Home than L.E.S., a Legend EarthSmart Home? With the charm of Frosty the Snowman, and a prideful smile, he tickles our imaginations. This loveable character is set against a backdrop of trees and flowers, in a beautiful EarthSmart Community – EdgeWater on the Tualatin. L.E.S. thinks the birds that fly by his windows are adorable. He’s also very proud of the solar panels on his head…oh, I mean, on his roof!
The underlying idea when creating the EarthSmart campaign was to produce vibrant media that was both educational and appealing, whimsical and smart. Bright colors, fanciful design and the charming L.E.S. were a slam-dunk aesthetic combination.
Best Production Media
The first commercial we designed and produced was purely animated in order to introduce the new EarthSmart brand. An EarthSmart home is sustainable and affordable. In the commercial we utilized animation to show flowers blooming, birds tweeting and solar panels shining. As the brand became known, the word spread and the EarthSmart Community (EdgeWater on the Tualatin) became more reality than fantasy, we produced a second commercial. L.E.S. narrates this one as well, but we included interior and exterior shots of the homes to further bring him to life.
